The quickest way to spoil a bachelor or bachelorette plan is to hide the real cost until people have already agreed. Share a simple budget early and let people opt in before bookings are made.

Separate the party cost from any gift for the bride or groom. They are two different decisions.

List the main items: venue, food, transport, decorations and emergency balance. You do not need a forty-line spreadsheet, but people should understand where their contribution is going.

Set one deadline before the booking deadline. If the plan depends on a minimum number of people, say what happens if the group does not reach it.
