BooReceipt Terms of Service

These terms are the operating rules for BooReceipt's early launch. By creating a recipient account or sending a gift, you agree to use the service lawfully and understand how public Receipts work. Nigerian counsel should review these terms before broad live-payment launch.

18+ service

BooReceipt is for adults aged 18 and above. Recipient profile owners confirm their age during onboarding. Do not create an account or send a gift if you are not legally able to enter this agreement or make the payment. If BooReceipt reasonably determines that an account holder is under 18 or provided a false age confirmation, BooReceipt may suspend or terminate the account for violating these Terms.

Accounts and profile links

Keep your account details accurate and your password and email access secure. You are responsible for activity through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized access. Public profile names and links must not impersonate another person, violate rights, or mislead senders.

Gifts and public Receipts

Payments are voluntary gifts, not purchases from the recipient. Before checkout, the sender sees the gift, processing/platform charge, total charged, and amount intended for the recipient. After successful server verification, the gift amount, chosen sender name or Anonymous label, optional message, recipient, receipt number, and time can appear publicly. The sender's payment email is not public.

Payments, reversals, and disputes

Paystack processes checkout and settlement. A submitted payment is not a verified Receipt until BooReceipt confirms it with the payment provider. Failed or abandoned attempts do not count. Chargebacks, reversals, refunds, payment errors, or suspected fraud may cause a Receipt and its ranking effect to be removed or adjusted. Provider rules and applicable law can also govern the payment.

Rankings

Recipient boards measure verified BooReceipt gifts during the stated period. Odogwu/Lolo groups only gifts whose senders opted in, using a privacy-preserving internal identifier and the selected display name. Rankings are social features; they do not measure a person's worth, relationship quality, or how loved anyone is. BooReceipt may correct entries affected by errors, abuse, duplicate verification, or reversals.

Acceptable use

Do not use BooReceipt for fraud, harassment, impersonation, illegal funds, money laundering, evading payment controls, scraping private data, disrupting the service, testing security without permission, or posting content that is unlawful or violates another person's rights. BooReceipt may hide content, suspend access, delay features, or cooperate with providers and lawful requests where needed to protect people and the service.

Availability and changes

Features may change during the early launch. BooReceipt aims to keep the service accurate and available but cannot promise uninterrupted operation or that every provider delay will be within its control. Material changes to these terms will be posted on this page with a revised date.
