BooReceipt Privacy Notice

This notice explains what BooReceipt collects, why it is used, when it becomes public, and the service providers involved. BooReceipt is a Nigeria-first social gifting platform for verified gifts and shareable public Receipts.

Information you give us

Recipient account information can include a name, email address, password credential, profile description, location, avatar, social handles, age confirmation, and profile-publishing choice. Gift information can include the sender's email, chosen display name, gift amount, optional public message, anonymity choice, and Odogwu/Lolo ranking choice.

Google sign-in

If you choose Continue with Google, Google provides BooReceipt with the basic account information needed to sign you in, such as your Google account identifier, name, email address, email-verification status, and profile image where available. BooReceipt uses this only for authentication, account creation, account security, and the profile setup you request. BooReceipt does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google content.

What is public

A published recipient profile can show its chosen name, bio, location, avatar, social handles, verified gift total, Receipt count, and ranking. After payment is verified, a public Receipt can show the recipient, gift amount, sender's chosen public name or “Anonymous,” optional message, receipt number, and payment time. An Odogwu/Lolo entry appears only when the sender opts in for that gift.

What stays private

Sign-in emails, sender payment emails, password records, Paystack references, payout identifiers, and provider payloads are not intentionally displayed on public profiles, Receipts, leaderboards, or PDFs. Raw bank-account details are submitted to Paystack for settlement setup and are not retained by BooReceipt. Sender email is transformed with a keyed one-way identifier when grouping opted-in leaderboard gifts; the public leaderboard receives display data, not the underlying email.

Why information is used

BooReceipt uses information to authenticate accounts, send account verification and recovery emails, create and manage profiles, initialize and verify payments, prevent duplicate Receipts, calculate opted-in rankings, provide support, investigate abuse, maintain security, and understand whether the service works as intended.

Payments, email, and service providers

Paystack processes payments and recipient settlement. ZeptoMail delivers transactional account emails. Google provides optional sign-in. Hosting, database, security, and infrastructure providers process information as needed to operate the service. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy notices as well as BooReceipt's service agreements with them.

Analytics and cookies

BooReceipt uses Google Analytics and DataFast to measure visits, page usage, device and browser information, approximate location, referral sources, and product performance. These services may use cookies or similar identifiers. Authentication also uses necessary cookies to keep recipients signed in and protect account sessions. Payment providers may use their own necessary technologies during checkout. BooReceipt does not use analytics information to decide gifting rankings.

For the private recipient traffic dashboard, BooReceipt also records a limited first-party profile-visit event: the recipient profile, visit time, and a broad source category such as Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, or direct/web. A random first-party browser identifier is transformed into a profile-specific keyed identifier so repeated refreshes can be filtered. BooReceipt does not retain the raw identifier, raw IP address, or full referring URL in this traffic table. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected for this first-party count.

Retention and security

Information is kept for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain payment and security records, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and enforce agreements. BooReceipt uses access controls, secure cookies, server-side payment verification, and other safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security.

Your choices and requests

Recipients can change profile visibility and public profile details from their dashboard. Senders choose per gift whether a name is public, whether the gift is anonymous, and whether it counts on the Odogwu/Lolo board. To ask about access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, or another privacy request, email privacy@booreceipt.com. Some records may need to be retained for payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legal reasons.

Changes to this notice

Material changes will be posted here with a new update date. This notice should be reviewed by Nigerian privacy counsel before live payments are opened broadly.
